ACP-EU Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific

Agreement No.REG/FED/023-785 – ACP-EU Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific was signed on 12th April 2013 for an amount of 20.0 million EUR. The beneficiaries are the 16 ACP Pacific countries.

Through a Contribution Agreement between the EC and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC)

Objectives

The objective of the project is to reduce the vulnerability as well as the social, economic and environmental costs of disasters caused by natural hazards, thereby achieving regional and national sustainable development and poverty reduction goals in ACP Pacific islands States (PICs).

Expected results

  • Effective preparedness, response and recovery;
  • Strengthened institutional arrangements for disaster reduction management;
  • Improved knowledge, information, public awareness, training and education

The Programme is ongoing

The deadline for the implementation of the programme is 12 April 2018.

Beneficiary countries:

All the Pacific ACP Member countries.
